Faith

In today's society many people want to know what faith is and how does having faith impact their life.

First let us define faith.
The American Heritage® Dictionary defines
Faith 1. Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.
2.Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.
3 Loyalty to a person or thing; allegiance: keeping faith with one's supporters.

The Bible say in Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith is important in our lives. We live knowing that one day the Savior will come back for us. As humans we feel the need to believe in something bigger than us. When things happen in our lives, it's God that helps us to make it. We don't see God, yet we know he is there watching over us.
As we think about faith we are reminded of the woman with the issue of blood. She thought, "I only need to touch his clothes. Then I will be healed. Jesus turned and saw her. "Dear woman, don't give up hope," he said. "Your faith has healed you." The woman was healed at that very moment. (Matt. 9:21-22). We need this Faith no matter how small.

How do you explain this thing we call Faith ?

  1. Faith is something God put in us. Faith comes from love. When you love someone as God loves us, you have faith in them. You believe in the person. You do not have to see what you think will happen it is also a vision. I love you so I have the faith that you will succeed. There are so many ways to describe faith. The main thing is knowing that it is the substance of things not seen. Take a leap of faith today. Love and believe.

  2. When you have faith there can not be doubt in your mind. Faith and doubt can not exist in the same sentence or the same body.

  3. Faith is a win over the mind. If you know something or have been told that a certain thing is going to happen, then faith is your trust in the integrity and word of that individual who has proven themselves to you before. So then faith now is the substance (the proof) of the thing hoped for (what you were told. The woman with the issue of blood had to first believe that her healing-(substance of thing hoped for)and the outward proof (the evidence of things not seen)came from the power of God . Our faith is belief rested on our ability to grasp the fact that our needs are supplied and guaranteed even though we have not seen them but the evidence through the testimonies of others and their outward proof that the God we do not see is the only possible supplier.
